In the first two years at Be Fed, we were really trying to understand the concept of which seeds to plant and when, so our harvest can be perfected. There are seeds that need to be planted in late April, compared to early July, depending on that specific plants needs.

We started out with just cucumbers, zucchini, and squash. Our thought process was that these plants can produce multiple produce at once and at larger/denser amounts which in return could feed a family for longer. After a couple years of consistent success within these three produce types, we are ready to take the next step.

Because of donations and better equipment, we have been able to start slowing diversifying the produce we grow at the garden, incorporating cabbage, beets, carrots, peppers, and more. We are learning to master which plants need more care, less care, more sun, less sun, etc. in their specific needs to thrive during Spring season.
